GIS Day / Geography Week Social

Join us on Wednesday November 15th to celebrate GIS day and Geography Week

This will be the last GANS event of 2017, leading us into the holiday season. There will be 2 presentations starting at 7:00 pm after which we will have a social including hot appetizers and drinks. Admission includes 2 drink tickets per guest.

Schedule: 

  • 7:00 Welcome from GANS
  • 7:15-7:45 Presentation by Marc Skinner from Stantec on the Lake Banook Vegetation Mapping project.
  • 7:45-8:30 Presentation by Joel Zemel titled "Debunking the 13 Mile Myth" about attempting to find out locations where photographs of the Halifax explosion blast cloud were taken and using this information to try to reverse years of misinformation attached to photographs of the explosion blast cloud and its path to the sea.
