The Canadian Geomatics Community Round Table is an open and collaborative group, made up of representatives from industry, academia, professional associations, NGOs and federal, provincial and territorial governments, spanning the geomatics (geographic, geospatial, location information) domain. This group is examining issues facing the Canadian Geomatics Community and developing a Pan-Canadian Geomatics Strategy to support, strengthen and guide the sector for years to come.

They need your help in developing the Pan-Canadian Geomatics Strategy. Learn more about how you or your organization can help shape the future of our sector. GANS encourages you to visit the Strategy section of the site, read the draft papers and provide feedback to the Round Table.

It's your turn - Join the conversation!

COGS is hosting some special events in honor of GIS Day.  For more information, contact Dave MacLean.

The Nova Scotia provincial government GIS User Group is hosting a GIS Day event at Scotia Square Mall during the work day.  Come by on your break or lunch hour to see how various departments use GIS to support their initiatives.

GANS will be hosting a GIS Day event at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History that evening, featuring a great line up of speakers, celebratory cake, door prizes and free give always!  Don't miss out.  The event is free to members and $10 for non-members/guests.  Event details can be found HERE.

Remeber that no matter your location or your availability on GIS Day, you can always find time to spread the word of GIS.  Take a minute to talk to a coworker who may not fully understand what you do, talk to your child's teacher, mention it to sibling or a parent.  Help promote awareness around GIS.
