We’re looking for two people to fill the role of Planning Information Analyst in Planning and Development, in Halifax Nova Scotia. I’ve included a link to the jobs and the description. Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for two (2) permanent full-time position of Planning Information Analyst with Planning and Development, Regional Planning. We encourage applications from African Nova Scotians, racially visible persons, women (applying for non-traditional positions), persons with disabilities, Aboriginal persons and persons of the LGBTQ+ community. HRM encourages applicants to self-identify.

Both positions will support Planning and Developments goals and objectives as well as specific areas of expertise within the team. One (1) position will support Civic Addressing initiatives and one (1) will support wider Planning and Development data and research initiatives. The positions will work interchangeably on other business unit objectives outside of these noted areas of expertise.

The Planning Information Analyst, reporting to a Principal Planner, will undertake assignments involving the assigning and correcting of civic addresses, developing civic addressing numbering plans, preparation and review of mapping for planning applications/projects, 3D modeling, geospatial analysis, and data solutions/management. The Planning Information Analyst requires broad technical knowledge of geographic information systems, quantitative methods as well as data management concepts, and knowledge of planning and civic addressing issues, regulations, and legislation.
